Horticulture Shines at Dorset Show
The weather was fine and the ground had dried out just in time for the plants, livestock, machinery, trade stands and all the fun of the fair to be enjoyed at this year’s show.

Record visitor numbers attended the 2012 Dorset County show held on the 1st & 2nd of September 2012.

Despite the horrendous weather only a few days prior to the show, exhibitors staged some good looking displays in the Horticultural Marquee and Floral Pavilion.

Gold flowed around the Floral Pavilion 

A large gold for this splash of colour by Island Garden Nursery.

Helen Godfrey and her amazing wire animal creations won her gold and the Best Display as voted by visitors ballot sponsored by The Gardening Horticultural Chairman, Robin Pitcher and Editor Chris Allen present Helen with her certificate.


Holme for Plants garden centre won a large gold and the Best in Show for their display.


Chris Allen, as senior steward and Chairman Robin Pitcher welcome the Bulldog Tools ‘biggest spade in the world’ to the show ground.

A clever plant box concept by Blooming Hill Plants won large gold.
